Bloem Tak

Size: 14 x 6 inches.

This drum is a collaboration with my neighbour who designs and paints floral patterns. I asked him to design a pattern for a drum and paint it. The remainder of the surface I put gold leaf on. The shell is a ply beech shell. Hardware is handmade from steel and oak.

Prize: sold.

(The name of this drum, Bloem Tak, was made up by the owner of this drum, Mischa Porte, and is a pun that is understandable for Dutch speakers, but not for English speakers. Let me explain it: Bloem Tak sounds like "BOOOM TJAK" (meaning one hit on the bass and one on the snare, y'all know). Bloem is Dutch for flower, tak is Dutch for branch.)
