Drum for my daughter Levine

size: 10 x 3 inches

The shell is a piece of a recycled tom of which I don't know the wood species. It is finished with fabric and non-yellowing lacquer. On the inside I've written my daughters name and the lullaby I wrote for her and I still sing everytime I put her to bed. The strainer and butt-end are partly vintage (chrome over brass) and partly polished aluminum that I made to complete the set. Screws and vent-hole are generic. The hoops are made from wood (birch veneered with campher), rope and beads. These hoops were an experiment and, though they work, not something I will repeat in this form on a drum that is meant for being played by a real drummer. It looks nice and funny but reduces ease of tuning.
