Mixed Up

Size: 14 x 4 inches. 

The shell is a steel vintage Premier shell. I removed the chrome on the outside, gave it a coat of anti-rust primer and wrapped it with a home made wrap, that looks like wood in a strange colorful way. The wrap is made using the technique frottage. More about frottage here. 

The hardware is made from beech wood (and some steel for crucial parts like inserts); it is hand cut and hand carved, and it is finished with gold-leaf and brass colored guilding wax. 

So I kinda faked the metal to be wood and faked the wood to be metal.
